On Thursday, Mix 105.1 held their Acoustic Summer concert with performances by Simple Plan, Magic!, and Ingrid Michaelson. The place was filled with emos and hipsters. Simple Plan has been my absolute favorite band; their album Still Not Getting Any helped me get through middle school, and Get Your Heart On helped me through my freshman year of college. No band has affected my like Simple Plan, and their half an hour acoustic set at Orlando's House of Blues gave me a sense of closure I have never felt before.
The "Singing In The Rain" video chronicles the rise and fall of 60s-era Simple Plan. The band starts in a high school gymnasium, rises in popularity, and then crumbles under the pressure. It's a fun visual to go along with the upbeat song that is one of Simple Plan's more pop-inspired tunes.
Simple Plan's new CD Taking One For The Team is probably entirely out on the internet already, sprinkled through various sites. "PS I Hate You" can be found on Perez Hilton's blog, right between Kristin Cavallari becoming a mom and Yolanda Foster changing her name.
Release week has kicked off for Simple Plan's Taking One For The Team, beginning with the release of another track: "Farewell" featuring New Found Glory's Jordan Pundik.
