In the music video for "Befour" (also stylized as "BeFoUr" but I think that's a tad obnoxious) Zayn takes us into his world pre-1D. He's not in it much, he's more on the sidelines while the video follows everyday people. There's a guy busing tables at a dive bar, and another training at a gym. Zayn watches nearby among groups of people. It's hard for him not to stand out, though, cause he's drop-dead-freaking-gorgeous (it's the fame, it makes you prettier). But he wants viewers to see him in his native environment, among his mates on the UK streets.
The song has a swoon-y Justin Timberlake vibe, and it's about trying to fit into the new, famous environment in which he feels he isn't accustomed for: "Time for me to move up/So many hours have gone/Heart beats the pump of my blood/No strings for you to pull on/You've got your tongue in your cheek/So pardon if I don't speak/Can't tun my chords into your songs, no." A diss at 1D? Maybe, but it's nothing he hasn't said before. Let's give him his time to express himself and how he felt about about a very crazy time in his life.
"Befour" is off Zayn's debut album Mind Of Mine. It is currently #1 on the US & Australian iTunes Top Albums (#2 in the UK), and is now available on iTunes and Spotify. Zayn currently does not have any touring plans.
