So now that I have admitted that, onto the video. One Direction has just begun their hiatus. It began right after the release of their fifth album Made In The Am this past November. The album will have no tour, but they are still promoting the music for their fans to enjoy over the break. The latest single is "History", which I believe was a good choice because the relationship between the four boys (and Zayn) and their fans has a whole lot of history. A lot of happened over the past five years, and the song captures the feeling of still going strong even when times are tough. Just listen to Louis Tomlinson plead, "This is not the end/This is not the end/We can make it you know it, you know" during the bridge.
The music video follows the same route as the lyrics. Most of the video consists of moments from the band's five-year history, including the X Factor, previous music videos, and moments as a band, with and without former member Zayn Malik. It all finishes with the band's last hug after their final TV performance, a performance of "History" on the X Factor. For any One Direction fan that's been around for awhile, it's a breath of fresh air. Remember 2013? Remember how nice it was?
Made In The Am is One Direction's fifth album. It is available on iTunes and Spotify. The album is currently #19 on the Billboard Top 200. The four members of One Direction: Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan, are currently on hiatus; but former member Zayn Malik has a new single "Pillowtalk" being released on Friday. Liam Payne is currently working in the studio on some new music, and Louis Tomlinson has just become a father of a new baby boy.
