During the video, the guys Facetime fans and they talk about how much music means to them. Many fans have met their friends through All Time Low. Some fans say All Time Low provided the music that helped them go through dark times. The band mentions how much they love and appreciate their fans because they can turn to the fans for support during their hard times. The conversations are heartwarming and adorable; I've always admired how All Time Low and interacts with their fans. They treat their fans like real people, and we in turn treat the band like real people.
The song isn't really the focus of the video; there's dialogue spoken over some parts. But the video fulfills the song's purpose. "Missing You" is a rally cry from All Time Low to their fans about how they should never feel alone and never give up: "I heard that you've been/Having some trouble finding your place in the world./I know how much that hurts,/But if you need a friend/Then please just say the word."
"Missing You" was one of the first songs I've learned on the guitar. All Time Low helped me connect with a couple of my coworkers, and they helped me rediscover my love for punk rock music. It's surreal looking back and seeing how a particular band has affected your life.
"Missing You" is off All Time Low's sixth studio album Future Hearts, released through Hopeless Records. The album peaked at #1 on the UK OCC Albums Chart, UK OCC Vinyl Albums Chart, US Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart, and the US Billboard Vinyl Albums Chart. Future Hearts is available on iTunes and Spotify. All Time Low has a few festivals lined up, beginning with the Preakness InfieldFest with The Chainsmokers and Fetty Wap in their hometown of Baltimore, MD in May.
